About Us

At Liberty Awareness, we are dedicated to ending the horrors of human trafficking and restoring freedom to those who have been robbed of it. Our mission is simple but powerful: to raise awareness, empower survivors, and prevent trafficking through education, advocacy, and action.

Founded on the belief that every person deserves liberty and dignity, we work tirelessly to shine a light on the dark realities of trafficking. We collaborate with communities, organizations, and governments to create safe spaces, provide resources for victims, and drive systemic change. Our goal is to break the chains of modern-day slavery and ensure that freedom is a right for all, not a privilege for some.

Through awareness campaigns, educational programs, and survivor support, Liberty Awareness stands at the forefront of the fight against human trafficking. We are committed to giving a voice to the voiceless and hope to the hopeless, working together for a world where everyone can live free from exploitation.

Join us in the fight for freedom, justice, and human dignity. Together, we can make a difference.

In hopes of this we founded FREEtheSilenced.

Ending Trafficking

Human trafficking is the illegal trade of people for exploitation, often involving force, fraud, or coercion. Victims are used for sexual exploitation, forced labor, or other forms of abuse. It affects vulnerable populations, including women, children, and migrants, and occurs globally, both across borders and within countries. Traffickers lure victims with false promises and use violence or threats to control them. Efforts to combat human trafficking involve strengthening laws, raising awareness, and providing support to victims.

"I was 17 when I was trafficked. It started with a promise of a job. I grew up in a poor rural village, and when a man offered me work in the city as a domestic worker, I thought it was my chance to support my family. But when I arrived, things changed. They took my ID, my phone, and my freedom. I was forced into prostitution, locked in a room with other girls, and watched closely by the traffickers. They threatened me and my family if I tried to escape. For months, I lived in fear and pain, feeling hopeless and trapped.

One night, the police raided the building, and that’s how I was rescued. The road to recovery hasn’t been easy. I still deal with the trauma, but with the support of a local organization, I’ve started rebuilding my life. Now, I work to raise awareness about human trafficking, hoping that no one else has to go through what I did."

SAFETY

Online safety is essential for children in today's digital age. Parents play a crucial role in protecting their children from the risks that come with internet use. Here are some practical tips for parents to ensure their children's online safety:

1. **Set Clear Rules and Guidelines**
   - **Establish Limits:** Set rules for how much time your child can spend online and which sites or apps they can use. Make sure these rules are clear and consistent.
   - **Age-Appropriate Content:** Ensure that the apps, games, and websites your child uses are appropriate for their age. Use tools like app ratings and website filters to help with this.

2. **Educate About Online Dangers**
   - **Talk About Cyberbullying:** Teach your children to recognize and report cyberbullying, and encourage them to come to you if they experience or witness it.
   - **Stranger Danger:** Explain that not everyone online is who they claim to be. Teach your children not to share personal information with strangers or engage in conversations with people they don’t know.
   - **Scams and Phishing:** Help your child understand the dangers of clicking on suspicious links or opening messages from unknown sources, as they could lead to scams or malware.

3. **Use Parental Controls**
   - **Filtering and Monitoring:** Use parental control software or the built-in settings on devices to filter inappropriate content, monitor activity, and manage screen time.
   - **Privacy Settings:** Adjust privacy settings on social media platforms, apps, and games to limit who can view your child’s information and posts.

4. **Teach Responsible Online Behavior**
   - **Respect for Others:** Encourage your child to be respectful online, treating others with kindness and refraining from sharing harmful or offensive content.
   - **Think Before Posting:** Teach your children to think about the long-term impact of what they post online. Remind them that once something is shared, it can be difficult to remove it completely.

5. **Stay Engaged and Involved**
   - **Keep the Conversation Open:** Regularly talk to your child about their online experiences. Make sure they feel comfortable coming to you with any concerns.
   - **Be Present:** Know what your child is doing online. You don't have to spy, but being aware of their favorite sites, apps, and online friends can help you protect them.

 6. **Use Technology Together**
   - **Co-viewing:** Spend time with your child online, whether it’s watching videos, playing games, or exploring educational content together. This helps you understand their online world and set a positive example.
   - **Digital Literacy:** Teach your child essential digital skills, such as recognizing credible sources, understanding online privacy, and using the internet responsibly.

7. **Teach Strong Password Practices**
   - **Create Strong Passwords:** Teach your child to create strong, unique passwords for their accounts and to change them regularly.
   - **Password Security:** Encourage them not to share passwords, even with friends, and to enable two-factor authentication where possible.

8. **Encourage a Healthy Balance**
   - **Balance Online and Offline Activities:** Help your child balance screen time with other activities, like outdoor play, reading, and face-to-face interactions.
   - **Be a Role Model:** Set a good example by balancing your own screen time and showing your child the importance of taking breaks from digital devices.

9. **Know the Signs of Trouble**
   - **Warning Signs:** Be aware of signs that something may be wrong, such as sudden secrecy about online activities, spending too much time online, or emotional changes after internet use.
   - **Action Steps:** If you suspect your child is being bullied, harassed, or exposed to inappropriate content online, intervene immediately. Know how to report issues to platforms or law enforcement if necessary.

10. **Stay Informed**
   - **Keep Up with Technology:** Stay updated on the latest apps, games, and social media platforms that your child may be using. Know the potential risks associated with these platforms.
   - **Parent Communities:** Join online safety communities or forums for parents to share tips and stay informed about new trends in online safety.

By staying proactive and engaged in your child's digital life, you can help them navigate the online world safely and responsibly.
